Our innovative and exciting new building gives staff and students a special environment in which to learn, work, achieve and dream

Arranged over four storeys, the UTC building includes:

  • A research centre where traditional academic subject such as maths, English and science are taught and where the fundamental principles required to develop projects are explored.
  • A state of the art project planning and design area where projects are taken from theory into specific solutions.
  • Industry-standard Mechatronics and digital technology workshops where products will be manufactured.
  • A conference centre and exhibition space linked to the workshops, allowing easy display of project work and providing presentation and briefing spaces. The conference centre will be an active learning space, not just an assembly hall.
  • And a sheltered external area, branded as the “Arena”, for testing and demonstration of project prototypes and models, such as robots, drones and remote-controlled vehicles.
  • An outdoor “Arena” for the testing and demonstration of project prototypes and models such as robots, drones and remote-controlled vehicles.
