Mark was born in Hull and has lived and worked in the area for most of his life.

Prior to taking up post as Vice Principal at RDUTC Mark was seconded to the post of Head of The Hub Alternative Provision School in the East Riding which he led from Requires Improvement to Good between September 2015 and July 2016.

His substantive post was Assistant Headteacher at Bridlington School where he had responsibility for care, guidance and support and vocational learning. He was also Contingent Commander of the school’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF).

Other roles have included Assistant Headteacher at South Hunsley School and Head of Year at Kelvin Hall School.

In addition Mark has worked in industry and is a time-served cabinet-maker.

Mark has extensive experience of leading inclusive teaching and learning, particularly in terms of vocational and technical qualifications. He has held key roles in some of the area’s top-performing schools and has contributed hugely to their success. His experience of working in industry before moving into education ensures that he has a sound understanding of how to be successful in the world of work beyond the education sector.

Mark is a die-hard Hullensian who is totally committed to the regeneration of his home city. He is extremely excited by the opportunity to play a leading role at RDUTC in ensuring that our students leave school with the personal, technical and employability skills they need to take up exciting careers with the area’s most successful employers and make a huge di erence to our local community.
