RDUTC CCF Cadets help out in their community

May 11th, 2018

Cadets from RDUTC Combined Cadet Force Contingent took to Kingston Square armed with bin bags, blue gloves and a determination to put something back into their community. Their mission was to collect as much litter as possible from the area around Kingston Square and Hull History Centre.

The 45 minute session yielded 6 bin bags full of litter with the area around the Hull History in particular looking much better – something which the landlord of the Old English Gentleman was keen to point out - accompanied with a big thumbs-up from him.

Cadet Lance Corporal Jack Taylor said “it was great to get them (the cadets) out there and help the community”. Cadet Oliver Scothern added “The idea of helping the community look and feel better really makes you feel like you’ve accomplished something”.

The litter pick is now established and cadets will now regularly go out and do their bit for the local community around RDUTC.
