Apply Now

Ron Dearing UTC has opened a brand-new building for 2017 in Hull city centre and offers students a totally new and unique way to learn.

Backed by Hull University and the region’s leading employers, the UTC provides young people with an employer-driven academic, technical and vocational education that will significantly improve their higher education and employment opportunities and fast-track them into the careers of their dreams.

The building is equipped with the most advanced technology, focusing on our specialisms of Digital Technology and Mechatronics – a combination of IT and engineering.

RDUTC is a school that means business.  Working in partnership with the University of Hull and the region’s leading employers, RDUTC provides students with an employer-driven academic, technical and applied education that gives them the edge in terms of higher education and employment opportunities and fast-tracks them into exciting and lucrative careers.

Our curriculum combines study for core GCSEs and A Levels with a range of technical and professional qualifications that employers and universities are crying out for.  Our students have the unique opportunity to take the theory they learn and apply it to ‘real’ projects designed and delivered by our employer sponsors.  This both extends their theoretical understanding and, crucially, enables them to develop their employability and technical skills in a real work environment.  No other school or college in the area can offer this.

Students can join the UTC in Year 10 or Year 12.

In our first year we have 150 students, growing to no more than 600 in total. The application window for places for September 2018 is now open. Places will be in high demand so apply early!
