RDUTC’s exciting creative centre of excellence – STEAM Studios – opened in September 2023 and the facilities are amazing! If you’re a school leaver thinking about your Y12 options, why not be part of something special in a creative space like no other?
Are you a social media pro, an artist, sculptor or designer? Do you want an exciting career in fashion, architecture or filmmaking? If so, STEAM Studios is the place for you. We offer a wide range of creative sixth-form courses in cutting-edge facilities that aren’t available anywhere else in Hull. What’s more, you’ll be part of Ron Dearing UTC – the UK’s best-performing UTC – with all our unique links to creative employers and professional artists and crafts people.

A £5M, low-carbon redevelopment of Hull’s historic former Central Fire Station, STEAM Studios is the perfect place to develop your skills in a professional environment, exhibit your work and find your identity as a creative. It’s home to several inspiring spaces where your creativity will take flight, including:

As a student, you’ll also have access to state-of-the-art digital facilities at Ron Dearing UTC’s main site, including 3D printers, laser cutters, VR and AR equipment and much more.
